Amber taught in the Stevens Point Area Public School District for 10 years in a variety of roles, classroom teacher, ELL Teacher, Reading Teacher and Reading Coach. She is dedicated to creating systems that support all students, she worked as the Literacy Coordinator for the Mosinee School District for five years.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I joined the UWSP faculty team in hopes of empowering beginning teachers to be knowledgeable, confident teachers of literacy. In turn, it is I that feel empowered by my students’ passion, energy, and dedication for teaching and serving students. With each cohort of graduates, I marvel at the talent and feel an overwhelming amount of excitement. The future looks bright because of the passionate educators that are joining the teaching profession!
