The Central Wisconsin Environmental Station is located on beautiful Sunset Lake and is a year-round environmental education center and residential facility.
Schmeeckle Reserve is managed to protect and restore native ecological communities of central Wisconsin. It is open to the public and serves as a unique gathering place for the community and university.
Treehaven is a residential natural resources education and conference facility located between Rhinelander and Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Treehaven rests on a glacial ridge overlooking 1,400 acres of forest and wetlands.
The Waste Education Center is a unique facility for hands-on education in waste management on the UWSP campus. The Center includes a laboratory for solid waste processing and composting, a working wastewater treatment plant, and an analytical laboratory.
The Water and Environmental Analysis Laboratory is Wisconsin DNR certified and a state-of-the-art facility capable of analyzing a wide range of constituents including metals, nutrients, and pesticides. WEAL was founded in 1972 to serve Wisconsin citizens, train future water quality professionals, and conduct water quality research.
The Advanced Computer Lab is a state-of-the-art teaching computer lab established to facilitate the teaching and learning of advanced computing skills, and to provide necessary resources for the CNR faculty, staff and students to carry out research and extension/outreach projects that support the CNR's mission and visions.
The CNR currently manages 13 properties throughout central and northern Wisconsin.
