Environmental Science
The Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education supports environmental
science (ES) education to enhance the environmental literacy of
Wisconsin's students and teachers.
Environmental Science Teaching Licensure
An environmental science teaching license ensures educators meet state
requirements and have the necessary background to teach environmental
science courses. Holding an environmental science licensure makes
teachers more marketable and provides options for expanding existing
curriculum. There are several options for obtaining an environmental
science license in Wisconsin as a preservice or inservice educator. Learn more

Wisconsin Environmental Science Course Framework
The Wisconsin Environmental Science Course Framework outlines an
ideal year-long high school environmental science course. Topics in the
framework are prioritized to help in planning courses of varied length.
The framework is not intended to serve as a curriculum but to provide a
consistent foundation upon which environmental science courses in
Wisconsin can be developed. The framework should be modified to meet
each individual teacher's needs.
Environmental Science Digital Resource Library
The digital resource library contains materials that can be used to
teach the topics, concepts, and subconcepts in the Environmental
Science Course Framework. Resources include activities; assessment
strategies; labs; websites; and video, field trip, and guest speaker
suggestions. Items in the library were contributed by Wisconsin
teachers and can be modified to meet individual classroom needs.
