Overview
This course focuses on the program and project management processes involved with managing compliance, stakeholders, communication, and documentation. The utility vegetation management industry is guided by a spectrum of governing authorities, ranging in risk level from legal requirements to internal standard operating procedures. Stakeholders play an important role in the development of your UVM program plan and impact the way you will implement and manage that program. Communication and documentation are key. This course will provide you with a hands-on approach to practice the management processes using effective tools and techniques to manage the risks.
Learning Objectives:
Explain the project and program integration management processes, develop a program governance model, and evaluate program strategy alignment as they relate to UVM.
Explain program compliance management in terms of UVM and develop a program compliance plan.
Describe land tenure, usage, and rights in relation to UVM.
Explain project stakeholder management processes and develop a stakeholder management plan.
Examine, describe, and develop a project communication management plan.
Explain and assess program records management systems as they relate to UVM.

This 10-week course is 100% online using a combination of tutorials, discussions, and projects.
Target Audience/Pre-requisites
This course is designed for utility vegetation management professionals or individuals looking to enter the field who are willing to form a partnership with a utility to get information needed for the course. Previous experience with utility vegetation management, arboriculture, or forestry is beneficial but not required.
Pre-requisite: successful completion of Foundations of UVM Certificate or UVM Program Management Fundamentals course.
