Overview
Successfully completing your UVM program in a safe, compliant, efficient, and fiscally responsible manner will start with a clear and accurate evaluation of the scope of work to be completed. This workload evaluation will be the key foundation for your success in scheduling, budgeting, and procuring the appropriate resources to meet the needs of your program or project. In this course, you will take a hands-on approach to learn the processes, tools, and techniques for managing scope, resources, schedules, cost, procurement, and contracts. You examine best practices related to typical tree inventories, maintenance cycles, budgets, contracts, and work crew configurations.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Develop a scope of work breakdown plan, including vegetation management control work types and area metrics related to your UVM operations.
- Develop a resource management process and plan with related risk levels associated with resource maintenance and replacement.
- Develop a program schedule (time) management plan for your UVM operations.
- Develop a bottom-up program budget (project) and procurement plan for your UVM Program.
- Examine the program procurement process and explain the impacts related to your UVM Program.
Delivery
This 10-week course is 100% online using a combination of tutorials, discussions, and projects.
Target Audience/Pre-requisites
This course is designed for utility vegetation management professionals or individuals looking to enter the field. Previous experience with utility vegetation management, arboriculture, or forestry is beneficial but not required.
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of UVM Compliance and Stakeholder Management.
