Overview
This course focuses on the program and project management processes involved with managing compliance, stakeholders, communication, and documentation. The utility vegetation management industry is guided by a spectrum of governing authorities, ranging in risk level from legal requirements to internal standard operating procedures. Stakeholders play an important role in the development of your UVM program plan and impact the way you will implement and manage that program. Communication and documentation are key. This course will provide you with a hands-on approach to practice the management processes using effective tools and techniques to manage the risks.

- Differentiate program and project management parameters regarding UVM domains.
- Define a program governance model and program strategy related to utility vegetation management.
- Analyze a program compliance plan that explains compliance parameters, risk assessment, actions, and accountability strategies.
- Develop communication strategies for different types of stakeholders based on their attributes.
- Develop recordkeeping policies and procedures to ensure accurate and complete documentation for your UVM program.

Target Audience/Pre-requisites
This course is designed for utility vegetation management professionals or individuals looking to enter the field who are willing to form a partnership with a utility to get the information needed for the course. Previous experience with utility vegetation management, arboriculture, or forestry is beneficial but not required.
Pre-requisite: successful completion of Foundations of UVM Certificate or UVM Program Management Fundamentals course.
