General End Use Survey

Purpose: The purpose of this activity is to help you monitor the various categories of end uses in your home or school, which can aid in the identification of ways to reduce electricity consumption.

Steps

1. Print out hard copy of General End Use Survey and monitor activities for a day (General Energy End Use Survey.docMS Word or General Energy End Use Survey.pdfPDF Version). Try to record at least one activity per hour.

3. Under "Source of Energy" identify what energy resource was used (for example: electricity, battery, gas, etc.).

4. Under "Amount" guess if the item uses a lot or a little energy.

5. After you've completed the survey, categorize the items based on the end use and answer the questions below.

6. Submit answers if required by instructor.
