The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point plans to build a four-story parking garage on campus, but nearby residents say they would rather see the proposal itself put in park.

The new garage is intended to offset the loss of parking lot X, where a new chemistry-biology science building will be developed. Lot X currently has 350 spots but the garage would provide 198 additional spots.

The university has proposed building the garage at the current site of parking lot T, behind the the Newman Center and Pray-Sims residence hall on campus.
