Tickets are on sale for evening
and matinee performances throughout the coming academic year. Prices are $19 for
adults, $18 for seniors, $14 for youth and $4.50 for students with UW-Stevens
Point ID. Package season tickets for either the three shows in Jenkins Theatre
or the three in the Studio Theatre may be purchased for $48 for adults, $45 for
seniors or $32 for youth. Tickets are available at the UW-Stevens Point
Information and Tickets Office, located in the Dreyfus University Center
concourse, by calling 715-346-4100 or at http://tickets.uwsp.edu/index.php.
Season tickets are also available through the First Nighters program, which offers theatregoers dinner and a show on the premiere night of five of the productions (Afterimages 2013 is not included). Meals are provided in the Noel Fine Arts Center courtyard by university dining. Tickets are $240 per person for all five productions, $150 per person for the three productions in Jenkins Theatre or $100 per person for the two productions in the Studio Theatre. “Stags and Hens,” Oct. 18–20 and 23-26, Studio Theatre
At her bachelorette party in a
Liverpool dance club, Linda wonders if her marriage to Dave is a mistake. When
Dave and her old boyfriend show up at the same club, the explosive results
change her life forever in this darkly comic play by Willy Russell, writer of
“Educating Rita.”

“Carousel,” Nov. 8-10 and 13-16, Jenkins Theatre
Called “the best musical of the 20th century” by Time Magazine,
“Carousel” centers on a tempestuous love affair between a gruff carnival barker
and a young millworker, with music by Richard Rogers and book and lyrics by
Oscar Hammerstein II.

“Afterimages 2013,” Dec. 6-8, Studio Theatre
This student-directed show highlights the talents of student choreographers,
performers, lighting and costume designers and gives students the full
experience of creating their own work.

“The Crucible,” Feb. 28, March 1-2 and 6-8, 2014, Jenkins
Theatre
Taken from court documents and true accounts, “The Crucible” brings to vivid
life the Salem witch trials of 1692. Written in 1952 as an allegory for
McCarthyism, playwright Arthur Miller’s tense, spine-tingling play continues to
force its audiences to re-evaluate the power of fear in our society.

“Next to Normal,” April 4-6 and 9-12, 2014, Studio
Theatre
Winner of three Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for drama in 2009, “Next to
Normal” has been called “a powerful rock musical that grapples with mental
illness in a suburban family and expands the scope of subject matter for
musicals.”

The annual dance concert features new
works by faculty and a guest choreographer.
