The annual
Soirée Musicale event at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will raise
money for student scholarships while celebrating German and Viennese music.
Held Friday,
April 25, Soirée Musicale is a black tie optional event that begins with a welcome
reception at 6 p.m., featuring hors d’oeuvres, beverages and oom-pah music by
Bull Falls Blasmusickanten.
The 7 p.m.
concert includes performances by Department of Music students, faculty, staff
and alumni and the music of Wolfgang Mozart, George Gershwin, Joseph Werner and
others. An afterglow reception with desserts, coffee and a cash bar follows at
8:30 p.m., with music by the UW-Stevens Point Jazz Combo.

The event has raised more than $275,000 for scholarships since its creation in
1999.
