From hibernating creatures to hidden berries, learn more
about local treasures at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Schmeeckle
Reserve. Several free, public programs are offered in March.
Taught by UW-Stevens Point students, the programs are
offered at the reserve’s Visitor Center, 2419 North Point Drive, Stevens Point.

Skiing through Time, Sunday, March 8, 2-3
p.m. Discover why cross-country skiing is a popular Wisconsin winter pastime,
then take an optional ski tour at Standing Rocks County Park. Bring your own

Hibernating Herps, Thursday, March 26,
6:30-7:30 p.m. Where do Schmeeckle Reserve’s reptiles and amphibians go during
the winter months? Find out, and handle some of these live animals.

March 29, noon-1 p.m. Learn what kind of berries grow locally and where you can
find them during each season.
