Called one of the most
observant humor writers in America, David Sedaris will bring his sardonic wit
and social critiques to Stevens Point next month as part of the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Performing Arts Series.
Sedaris will perform at 7:30
p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Laird Room of the Dreyfus University Center. The
series is presented in part by Country Inn and Suites of Stevens Point and Sentry Insurance.
Tickets are $15 for adults,
$12 for senior citizens and $6 for youth. UW-Stevens Point students with ID may
buy tickets in advance for $4.50 or be admitted free the day of the show if

Sedaris is a master of
satire who writes about the human condition today. He may be heard on the
public radio show, “This American Life,” and appears regularly in “The New
Yorker.”
He is the author of “Barrel
Fever” and “Holidays on Ice,” the personal essay collections “Naked,” “Me Talk
Pretty One Day” and most recently, “Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls.” Seven
million copies of his books are in print, and they have been translated into 25
languages.
Sedaris’ album recordings
and audio books have been nominated for Grammy Awards, and a feature film
adaptation of his story, “C.O.G.” was released after a premier at the Sundance
Film Festival in 2013. He also collaborates with his sister, Amy Sedaris,
