A program that partners parents and students to work together on mathematics understanding and concepts is being offered by the YMCA and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education and Outreach.

The Math and Parent Partners (MAPPS) program is held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon through May 16 at the YMCA. These sessions are for parents and students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Attend one session or all of them to work on fractions, decimals and percents.

Child care is available for younger children, or children may accompany their parents and older siblings at the MAPPS sessions.

The program is offered at no cost. Course credit is available for the adults who attend.

To register, call the YMCA at 715-342-2980. For questions or more information about the program, call 715-346-4329 or email andrea.knapp@uwsp.edu or go to www.uwsp.edu/conted/ConfWrkShp/Pages/mapps.aspx.
