Contemporary dance troupe Keigwin + Company will perform
in Stevens Point as part of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Performing Arts Series, with one member serving a residency the following week.

The troupe will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Sentry Insurance’s Theatre @1800, 1800 Northpoint Drive, Stevens Point. Earlier that day, Company Founder and Artistic Director Larry Keigwin will lead a master class on technique for UW-Stevens Point dance students.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $6 for youth. UW-Stevens Point students with ID may buy tickets in advance for $4.50 or be admitted free the day of the show if seats remain. Tickets may be purchased through the University Information and Tickets Office in the Dreyfus University Center concourse, 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378, or at http://tickets.uwsp.edu. The Performing Arts Series is presented in part by Country Inn and Suites of Stevens Point and Sentry Insurance.

Founded in 2003 by Keigwin and Associate Director Nicole Wolcott, the group presents Keigwin’s electrifying choreography with dance that embodies a theatrical sensibility of wit, style and heart.

Jaclyn Walks, a company member and rehearsal director, will spend a week-long residency working with 12 UW-Stevens Point dance students on the dance piece “Air,” an excerpt of Keigwin’s dance “Elements” and set to the music of composer Philip Glass. Walks will also lead four technique master classes for UW-Stevens Point students. The students will perform “Air” as part of the Danstage dance concert staged in Jenkins Theatre on May 2-4 and 7-9. The residency is sponsored by the COFAC Great Artists, Great Speakers Series.
