Tap your feet to big band jazz favorites at a concert by the Jazz
Ensemble at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Tuesday, Dec. 9. The
concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts
Center.
Conducted by Brent Turney, associate professor of
trumpet, the Jazz Ensemble will perform “Central Park North” by Thad Jones,
“Mosaic” by Bob Mintzerk, “West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein and arranged
by Bill Reddie, “Swordfish” by Matt Harris, “Goodbye Porkpie Hat” by Charles
Mingus, “Get It” by Martin Wind, “Somebody’s Waltz” by Thomas Matta and “Count
Bubba’s Revenge” by Gordon Goodwin.
Part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, the
concert is $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for students and
free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. Tickets
