The Concert Band and Campus Band at the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point will feature various generations of celebrated
composers at an upcoming concert.
Held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, in Michelsen Hall
in the Noel Fine Arts Center, the concert will include traditional and
innovational pieces, including one by Music Department Professor Stacey Berk.
The concert will be conducted by Associate Lecturer
Jonathan Caldwell and Professor Patrick Lawrence as well as apprentice
conductors Amanda Balane, a music education major from Appleton, and Marshall
James DeLonay, a music education major from Wausau.
The event is part of the Music Department Scholarship
Series. Tickets are $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for
students and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point
I.D. Tickets are available at the University Information and Tickets Office in

purchased at the door if available.
The Campus Band will play “Phrygian Festival Overture”
by Berk, “Metrix” by Robert Sheldon, “March” from “A Moorside Suite” by Gustav
Holst and Gordon Jacob and “Curtain Call” by John Wasson.
The Concert Band will play “A Festival Prelude” by
Alfred Reed, “Chant and Jubilo” by W. Francis McBeth, “Dusk” by Steven Bryant,
“Second Suite in F for Military Band, op. 28, no. 2” by Gustav Holst and “Sun
Dance” by Frank Ticheli.
