The Office of International Education (108 CCC Building) at ​the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point guides you in discovering new cultures, landscapes and lifestyles with semester and short-term study abroad programs. Continue to earn UW-Stevens Point academic credit while you experience a life-changing adventure.

Experiences in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas are available. We can also help you find study abroad grants and scholarships and options for you to study away at other campuses in the U.S. through the National Student Exchange (NSE).

Students are able to apply financial aid to all academic study abroad programs.

As a study abroad or National Student Exchange participant, you can then add this impressive experience to your resume. Past participants have developed skills that attract employers such as:

  • strong communication skills
  • creative thinking and problem solving
  • adaptability and flexibility
  • initiative and self-reliance

We provide advising and orientation for each program and each student will receive detailed information such as health and safety abroad, passports and visas, participant manuals and more.

Pre-Acceptance Meeting: All students applying for semester long programs are required to attend a Pre-Acceptance Meeting.

WALK-IN Study Abroad Advising Hours: Each Wednesday during the semester, you can simply walk in to the International Programs office, between 1:00 and 4:00 PM, and meet with a Study Abroad Advisor to have your program and academic questions answered. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.
The FALL 2015 STUDY ABROAD FAIR: Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Encore Room of the Dreyfus University Center (DUC). Come talk to program leaders, former student participants and the IP staff.
On November 7, 2015 we will hold our Workshop for all Spring 2016 Semester Programs and the Winterim 2015-16 study abroad trips.
In April, 20156we will hold the Workshop for the Fall 2016 and the Summer 2016 London Internship and Oaxaca Groups.
Short-term summer 2016 programs have a separate Workshop in March.
Students are expected to come and are encouraged to invite their parents to attend. A schedule will be available prior to the workshop.

Students often ask about working while doing a semester abroad. In general, that is not possible. However, if you wish to investigate this on your own here is a good place to start.

In addition, for future international employment, contacting the UWSP Career Services Office is a good idea.
