UW-Stevens Point Physical Education

Have you always wanted to teach physical education? Are you interested in providing the spark that gets children involved in physical activities? Do you want to take an active stand against the obesity crisis facing the next generation and beyond? If you answered "yes" to these three questions you should consider enrolling in UW-Stevens Point's physical education major through our School of Physical Education & Athletic Training.

UW-Stevens Point's physical education program is continually recognized as one of the best undergraduate programs in the state of Wisconsin and the upper Midwest. This major will fully prepare you for K-12 Wisconsin certification to teach physical education as each course is based on national objectives and standards to ensure the highest quality graduate. In addition, the physical education major is flexible, allowing you to add minors in health education, adventure education, strength and conditioning, coaching, and/or the 860 Adapted Physical Education Add-on to develop your professional credentials and enhance your marketability.

The mission of the UWSP physical education program is to produce graduates who can provide quality physical education programs which incorporate developmentally appropriate activities and best teaching practices in order to empower students to maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness throughout their lifetime.
