As part of the Stevens Point community, UWSP often shares its resources. In the case of network access, UWSP has a program called "Community Visitors." Members of the community and UWSP alumni can apply for a UWSP logon and password which will then enable them to log on to designated computers on the main floor of the the library.

 

The community computers allow visitors to use a computer for up to 1 hour and will have access to the Internet and library catalogs. They can pay to print from the Library Reference area.

 

Accounts are not granted to minors, and applicants agree to abide by UWSP Network Usage Policy; violators will be denied further access to UWSP Computing.

When a Community Visitor attempts to log on to a computer they do not have access to, they will see the following message:

This computer is reserved for UWSP students, faculty, and staff or special university guest account holders. You must be a UWSP student, faculty, or staff member or be assigned a special university guest account in order to log on to this computer. If you are unable to log on to this computer or you are a community visitor with an account that begins with the number "7", there are public access computers in the reference room on the first floor of the library.
