Comparative Literature
The minor in Comparative Literature is housed in the Department of
Foreign Languages. A minor in Comp Lit can be a strong addition to a
humanities major, particularly in preparation for graduate studies.
But an education in world literature makes for an exciting addition to any
educational program.

Requirements: (The following four categories)
1. Comparative Literature 101 and 102 [6 credits]
2. Foreign Language Literature Course [3 credits]
At least three credits in advanced literature courses read in a
language other than your own. (Examples: French and German 340, 460,
470; Spanish 441, 442, 453, 454, 480 and 490 and French, German and
Spanish 493).
3. English 380 (Literary Theory) [3 credits]
4. Comparative Artistic, Cultural, Historical or Theatrical
Studies [3 credits]
