"I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in May 2009. I took advantage of several educational and professional opportunities on campus and these have provided me with a successful start to my career. The most important of these experiences was procuring a student job in the University Archives. After proving my competence in the field I was granted an internship in the archives. Following the internship and graduation I accepted a position to work as a Limited Term Employee in the University Archives and in the Government Documents portion of the University Library. It was also through the University Archives that I made contact with the local historical society, where I was able to find time to volunteer. During my time as student at UW-SP I also traveled and studied abroad for the first time. I am confident that the practical experience I attained in the University Archives, the hard-earned recommendations provided by UW-SP staff and faculty, and my diversified resume convinced the University of British Colombia-Vancouver to accept me for their Master of Archival Studies program in 2010."
