College of Letters and Science Testimonial
"As a history and social science major at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, I spent four years developing a passion for modern European history. At UWSP I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work closely with a variety of others who shared this same passion for learning, regardless of their specialization. The core curriculum and the individual attention I received at UWSP allowed me to develop the skills necessary to tackle topics across disciplines, and combine issues directly related to my research interests with other's academic fields in order to develop new interpretations and conclusions.
In addition to having access to professors and coursework that challenged and deepened my understanding of history, I was also able to develop necessary archival and interpretive skills by working as a research assistant for two separate faculty members. Most undergraduates across the country are not able to begin engaging in important research at such an early stage in their academic careers. I know that the training I received at UWSP undoubtedly prepared me to continue my studies as a graduate student in history at The University of Chicago."
